Where the prices come from
Daily closes from the same series as the gold price history page: LBMA fixes for the earlier decades, continued with Metals.dev daily closes. Markets are shut on weekends and holidays, so a date without a trading session shows the last close before it. Prices are nominal US dollars per troy ounce.
How it’s calculated
Closing price on the date (or the last trading day before it) from daily LBMA fixes and Metals.dev closes; change = (later − earlier) ÷ earlier.
Prices are live spot from Metals.dev; dealer bid and ask from Texas Precious Metals; crypto from CoinGecko. Every figure on this page is timestamped and nothing is estimated when a feed is unavailable.
