China is the largest gold consumer and the Shanghai Gold Exchange sets its own benchmark, which can trade at a premium to London. This page multiplies the international platinum price, which is set in US dollars, by the live CNY per US dollar rate, so it moves with both the metal and the currency. A weaker chinese yuan raises the local price even when the dollar price is unchanged.

Local retail prices in China will differ: dealers add a premium over spot, jewelers add making charges, and taxes or import duty may apply. The figure here is the pure-metal reference they all start from.

Spot prices and FX rates both come from Metals.dev and refresh about once a minute. For the dollar price and its history see the main platinum price page; for other units and currencies, the converter.

Platinum price in yuan (CNY): questions

What is the platinum price in yuan today?

The live figure per troy ounce, gram and kilogram is at the top of this page, converted from the US-dollar spot price at the current CNY/USD rate.

Why does the CNY platinum price move when the dollar price doesn’t?

Because it is a product of two prices: the metal in dollars and the exchange rate. If the chinese yuan weakens against the dollar, platinum costs more in yuan.

Is this what a dealer in China will charge?

No — it is the wholesale spot equivalent. Add the dealer’s premium, any making charges for jewelry, and local taxes or duty.
